enigmatics, an EP originally released by Eponymous 4, gets a deluxe reissue with b-sides and an entirely new mix provided by Service Pack Three.
Retitled enigmatics SP MMXXV a.D., this expanded edition arrives Oct. 31, 2025 on streaming platforms and Bandcamp.
enigmatics at the time of release was billed as a tribute to the Enigma album MCMXC a.D., which the new title directly references. “SP” denotes “service pack,” not unlike operating system updates released by technology companies.
The new edition starts with a reimagined mix of the EP’s five tracks, provided by Service Pack Three. Where the original release was made with just two hardware synthesizers, the “Upgrade Mixes” use the full studio arsenal available to Service Pack Three / Eponymous 4 mastermind Greg Bueno.
Two b-sides from the “enigmatics IV” single follow. “Wrong Again” gets an updated mix by Eponymous 4, while “Acid Vogue” receives a full makeover with the Service Pack Three Upgrade Mix.
The original EP rounds out the reissue with the Eponymous 4 “Update Mixes.” These mixes finally give the tracks a clarity missing in earlier issues.
“enigmatics II”, “enigmatics IV” and “enigmatics V” (arriving August 29, 2025) offer previews of the updated engimatics and are still available for streaming and download.
